There’s a spirit in the tree. If you have the gift, you will hear its whispering, letting you know if your midwifery talents will born a vaka to sail the South Seas.
But that art and skill of a traditional Tokelau vaka master carver is fast disappearing. Back in the days polys used stars sun and the sea to navigate Traditional Polynesian navigators position themselves mainly by the stars using whats called a star compass Navigators steer their waka toward a star on the horizon When that star rises too high in the sky or sets beneath the horizon another is chosen and so on through the night
When sailing out on the open seas in their dugout voyaging canoes Polynesians would navigate by using the stars and all of the elameants around them In addition to following the path of the stars navigators would use the currents and wave patterns to determine their direction and heading
What i have learnt is that polys were really smart to have used Mother natural to navigate From place to place
Today in science we had to make a parachute that is secured and that will save the egg so we made a structure That we thought would save the egg from falling but my egg parachute did not save the egg because ours fell on it side so if i could remake this in the future i would and i would put more padding every where so that if it will fall in any way it would be safe. the best part about my structure was that it went down smoothly but the landing was not so smooth but at least i tried!.
Materials!
-Kaaba stick 10x used for structure
-Foam 10x the foam absorbed most of the impact
-Rubber bands 10x helped it stay in place
- ice block sticks 10x Used to help keep parachute in place
- rubbish bag 1x used as the parachute
