dimic maths

In dimic maths we got to learn a whole new bunch of stuff, we learned how to use a chart that looks like this.
The first time our teacher showed us the graph I was really confused because it looked like something only scientists would use to collect data, another thing we learned was collecting data with charts it was a fun and I'd say it's an easier way to collect data. Our teacher would put people into groups and she would see how well we worked together, if she saw a group that worked well and they were getting along nicely she would keep that group as it is but if the other groups weren't too good she would swap people, which I thought was a good idea because it gives other people a chance to work with others, and see how they learn because you can pick up a few things from it as well. I learnt a lot of new skills that can help me in the future with my maths and I would really like to use it next time.

 My group used a lot of strategies that I forgot most of them, but the groups I worked in had all these cool strategies and I thought it was cool and kind of interesting because I could see how other people work out problems, and equations. My group this week had a task and it was to see which person had more medicine I have to admit it was kinda the hardest one we have done so far, it took us about three or four tries to get it right but I didn't care about how much times we had to do it because I knew it was helping us learn more.

Plastic and oil create pollution and is a very dangerous thing in today’s society. We really need to start picking up after ourselves

It’s not okay to drink and drive or just drive while you are intoxicated with drugs alcohol or anything of that kind.
My Brainstorm for an issue I am interested in
Ethical:
If you are pregnant and go to the doctor for an x-ray, and find out that our baby is different, you shouldn’t abort it’s your child you need to accept that yes your child may look different but that’s what makes us unique.


Environmental:
The environmental problems like global warming, air pollution, waste disposal, water pollution, climate change and many more affect every human and animal


Social:
Child abuse,bullying,domestic violence,neglection,drug use,alcoholism,racism
Are a lot of things that are happening, and yet no one does anything about it, people think since it’s so bad that no one can stop it yet we can stop it.

Reflection:
What do you think digital technology hurmanu will be about?:
I think it will be very like techy like computers robots and 3D printing machines, and it's going to be full of codes and I think we are going to do coding as well.

What do you already know about DT eg apps etc:
I know how to create games, I know how to create my own website and I can create art digitally.


What are you hoping to learn during this hurmanu?
I really want to know how to code and how to use a 3D printer as well as a few more tech things.

For the past couple of weeks, we have been making our own phone stands.
We picked an image from google and we import the image into the template.
After we picked our image we transferred it into the flash drive.
Then we waited for it to be printed.
My image was a Tongan girl dancing.

  • Goal 1- I have been listening to Mr. Palmer and listening to his and other people's ideas and opinions so that I can understand what to do. Second my goal for this year is to use my ears to listen so i know how to do the experiment.

What i have been doing and what i have learned in science/Home chemistry:

Throughout this term my class have been doing some work on Science and home chemistry. Half way through the term we learned alot about Aerodynamic. What I have learned about Aerodynamic is the, Gravity, lift, Drag, and the thrust. We found that the normal plane flew straight for 5 metres. Secondly the Ailerons also directed straight as well and it flew 3 metres. Also with using the paper clip, the paper plane flew 5 metres and it flew straight but curved a little bit. Here are some words and parts of a plane I have learned. What I have learned about thrust is that thrust directs the plane to where it is going, so if the captain turns the wheel to the left then the thrust will direct the plane to the left. Secondly I have learned lots about Gravity.

Also near the half way through the term we done some work on crystals and how salt and sugar are crystals and also how they were made and how the salt forms underwater. What I have learned about how salt forms is that salt forms in sea water and is typically formed by the evaporation of salty water.

Also through the term we have been measuring each other to the where we are at with our height and our foot length. We measured Nikos foot and found out that it was 27cm and we also measured Ryan's foot and we found out that it was 22cm. Secondly we measured lasa's foot and he got 28 cm. After we measured our foots we measured our heights. Nikos height was 166 cm and Ryan's height was 152 cm and lasa's height 174cm.

Also we having been looking at our fingerprints by using a balloon. What we done was we had black ink and put our finger or thumb on it then we put it on the balloon and scanned it.
